Spousal Support

In California, spousal support is awarded at the court's discretion. There are a number of factors the court considers when making a decision about spousal support. The attorneys at All American Law can help explain the basics of spousal support and whether or not your divorce may involve spousal support.

From our office in Rancho Cucamonga, we serve clients throughout the Inland Empire. All American Law is entirely focused in the area of divorce and family law matters. We represent men and women in matters ranging from amicable divorce to highly contested divorce matters.

Our founder, Alan Carlisle, offers more than 30 years of experience in negotiating and in litigating divorce cases. Attorney Christine James brings a fresh perspective to All American Law and handles up to five court hearings a week. Working together, our attorneys are able to undertake even the toughest family law cases in the Inland Empire area.

How Is Spousal Support Calculated?

Spousal support (frequently referred to as alimony) payments are calculated and determined by the courts based on a number of different factors, which could include:

  • Length of the marriage
  • Age of the spouses
  • Health of the spouse
  • Earning capacity of each spouse
  • Children and child support issues

Support could be awarded for an interim time period or a long-term period, depending on what the courts decide. Our California lawyers have extensive experience handling spousal support issues in divorce. There may also be situations where support modifications are necessary. At All American Law, we can also help in this situation.
